Climate

Jordan enjoys a mostly Mediterranean climate with cool, wet winters and hot, dry summers. The farther inland from the Mediterranean any location in Jordan is the increased temperature changes between summer and winter. Summers are dry and arid with temporary gale force winds at the start and end of summer. These winds blow sand and dust through the atmosphere and visibility may decrease for a few days. July and August's temperatures can get very hot. Winters are usually from November until March. This season is when the most rainfall occurs. The country normally does not exceed 10 inches of rainfall for the year. Springs and autumns are mild and various in temperatures. These two seasons may only last a few weeks, the major seasons are summer and winter .
